Periodic table wheel

118 elements Checked 28 Oct 2026 Source: IUPAC periodic table of elements

About this wheel

Spin the wheel to pick one of the 118 chemical elements at random. Each slice shows an element as Name (Symbol), such as Hydrogen (H), in atomic number order from 1 to 118. Names follow IUPAC spellings, including aluminium, caesium and sulfur, and the list was last checked against the IUPAC periodic table on 28 October 2026.

Use it as a random element generator for a chemistry report, a symbol quiz, or a review game at the start of a lesson. Students can spin, then give the symbol, the period or a use of the element. Choose Remove winner so each element comes up once, which gives a class of 30 students 30 different elements. Press Fullscreen to show the wheel on a projector, and Mystery Mode in Settings hides the names for a guessing round.

Questions

Is this list up to date?

Yes. It lists all 118 named elements, from hydrogen to oganesson, checked against the IUPAC periodic table on 28 October 2026. Names and symbols follow IUPAC.

How do I give each student a different element?

Choose Remove winner under the list. Each element you land on leaves the wheel, so a class of 25 students gets 25 different elements for a report.

Can I practise only the first 20 elements?

Yes. Delete the lines after Calcium (Ca) in the list, or keep only Period 1 to Period 3. The wheel redraws as you type, and the groups on the page show which elements sit in each period.

Where can I look up an element after the spin?

Open the Periodic Table tool to see the atomic weight and electron configuration of each element. The Molar Mass Calculator adds up the mass of a compound.
