Click as fast as you can for 1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds and see your clicks per second.
A CPS test counts your clicks in a fixed time and divides by the seconds, so 50 clicks in 10 seconds is 5.00 clicks per second and 37 clicks in 5 seconds is 7.40. The formula is clicks divided by the test length, rounded to two decimals. It uses the length you chose, not the time between your first and last click, so every result in the same mode is comparable. The timer starts on your first click, and that click counts. Clicks that arrive when the time is up are ignored. Results are shown only when the time runs out, because a live figure in the first second swings wildly and says little.
A press of the left mouse button counts once, when you push it down, not again when you release it. A tap on a touch screen counts the same way. The right and middle mouse buttons do not count. With the click box in focus, the Space and Enter keys also count, once per press: holding a key down does not repeat. That lets you test with a keyboard, but a key press is not comparable with a mouse click, so keep to one input when you compare results. The page counts what the browser reports. A mouse switch that registers one physical press as two shows up as two clicks here, and so does a clicker device that sends fast presses.
One second measures a short burst, and the number is mostly reaction time. Five and ten seconds are the usual lengths for comparing yourself over time. Thirty and sixty seconds measure how long you can keep the pace, so the clicks per second are normally lower than in a short test. Best for this visit is kept for each length on its own, because a figure from 60 seconds should not be compared with one from 1 second. A new best is announced only when you beat the earlier best for that length, not when you tie it. Changing the length starts a new test.
The result depends on your mouse or trackpad, your browser and how fast the page redraws, so two devices give different numbers for the same person. There are no rank names and no scale here that claims to measure skill. Nothing is saved: the best of the visit lives in this tab's memory and is gone when you reload. Only the test length is remembered in this browser. Page visits are counted with Google Analytics, never your clicks.
Divide the number of clicks by the number of seconds in the test. 50 clicks in 10 seconds is 50 / 10 = 5.00 CPS. This page does it for you and rounds to two decimals, using the test length you picked.
On your first click. Before it, the box shows the full time, for example 10.0 seconds, and nothing counts down. That first click is counted, so a 10 second test has 10.0 seconds from it.
The time was up. Clicks at or after the end are ignored, and the box says Time is up. Press Try again to start a new test. The right mouse button and keys other than Space and Enter never count.
Yes. With the click box focused, each Space or Enter press counts once. Holding the key does not repeat. A touch screen tap counts as one click too. Compare results only with the same kind of input.
Only for this visit. The best for each test length is kept in this tab's memory, so reloading clears it. The one setting that is saved in this browser is the test length you picked.
No. The clicks are counted in your browser, in this tab, and no server receives them. The page counts visits with Google Analytics, never your clicks or scores.
