Paste names, add couples who must not draw each other, and get the matches. The organiser sees all of them.
This tool shows every match on the screen of whoever runs it. It sends no email and makes no private links, and it cannot hide a result. If you are taking part, you will see who has you and who you must buy for. The honest way to use it is to ask someone who is not in the exchange, such as a friend, a manager or a family member who is sitting out, to run it and pass each person their match privately. The copied text starts with a line saying that whoever ran the draw saw every match. For a draw where nobody sees anything, you need a service that mails each person their own match.
Each person gives to exactly one person and receives from exactly one person. Nobody draws themselves. The matches do not have to form one big circle: Ana can draw Bo while Bo draws Ana, and two or more small loops are fine, unless a rule below forbids a pair. You need 3 to 100 names. Lines are trimmed, blank lines are skipped, and names that match once case is ignored count once, with a note, because a repeated name would let someone draw themselves. The result is a table of Giver and Gives a gift to, and the same list as text to copy.
The second box takes one rule per line, such as Ana, Bo. The people on a line will not draw each other, in either direction. A line may name three or more people, such as a family, and then none of them draws another of them. Names are matched without regard to case. Lines that do not name at least two people from your list are ignored, and the note gives only how many. The draw uses a shuffle with backtracking: it always settles the person with the fewest choices first, so it finds a valid draw whenever one exists, within a step limit. If the rules make a draw impossible, or no draw is found within the limit, you get a fixed message and no result. Remove a rule or add people.
The shuffles use your browser's secure random source when available, with the browser's ordinary random function as a fallback. Names stay in this tab. They are not stored, not sent and not part of any analytics event, and the tool has no options to remember. Close the tab and the matches are gone, so copy them first. Pressing the button again makes a completely new draw, which replaces the old one. If someone loses their match after you have copied it, run the draw again and tell everyone.
Yes. All matches are shown on screen and there is no email or private link. Ask someone who is not taking part in the exchange to run it, then pass each person their own match.
Yes, unless you add a rule. The draw does not need to be one single circle. Ana can draw Bo and Bo can draw Ana. To stop it for couples, type Ana, Bo in the second box.
You get a fixed message and no matches. This happens when someone is blocked from every other person, such as 3 people with one rule naming all 3. Remove a rule or add more people, then press the button again.
From 3 to 100. With 2 people the only draw is that they swap, so the tool asks for at least 3. Names that repeat once case is ignored count once.
No. They stay in this tab and are gone when you close it, so copy the matches before you leave. The page counts visits with Google Analytics, and that never includes a name.
