Filler text by paragraphs, sentences or words. Runs on your device.
Lorem ipsum is filler text. Designers and developers use it to judge a layout, a font or a template before the real copy exists, because placeholder text keeps attention on the shapes and the spacing. This page builds its text from the 63 distinct words of a classic filler passage, shuffled into random sentences. It is not real Latin and it has no meaning. Use it only as placeholder text, and replace it with final copy before a page or a print job goes live.
Each sentence has 6 to 14 words. Each paragraph has 3 to 6 sentences. A sentence of 8 or more words has one comma, placed after one of its middle words. With the opening switched on, the first sentence is always Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. With the opening on, Words mode starts with the same eight words, adds random sentences if it needs more, and stops at the count you set. The last word is closed with a full stop, so the text never ends on a comma.
Plain text puts one blank line between paragraphs, which pastes cleanly into most editors. HTML wraps each paragraph in a p tag on its own line. The page shows that markup as text in a monospace box, so you can paste it into a template exactly as written. Changing this option changes only the markup, never the words, so the counts stay the same.
The limits are 50 paragraphs, 200 sentences and 2,000 words. The first text on each visit is the same, so screenshots and tests stay stable, and Generate new changes the random part. The text is made on your device and nothing you set here is sent anywhere. The page counts visits with Google Analytics. It sends the tool's name, whether a result appeared and whether you copied the text, never the text, the counts, the options or the seed. This browser keeps only the unit, the three counts and the two options. The text is not secret, so do not use it as a password or a token.
Between 18 and 84 words. A paragraph has 3 to 6 sentences, and each sentence has 6 to 14 words, so the shortest paragraph is 3 times 6 and the longest is 6 times 14.
Yes. Choose Words and type 100. The output has exactly 100 words, and the text ends with a full stop after the 100th word.
The page uses seed 1 on every visit, so the first text is always the same. That keeps screenshots and tests stable. Press Generate new to get a different random text with the same counts and options.
No. The 63 words come from a classic filler passage, but they are shuffled into random sentences, so the text has no meaning. It is fine for a mock-up or a template and not for a text that people will read.
This page does not give legal advice. It makes the text on your device, and nothing on the page sets terms for using it. Replace the filler with final copy before a site, a poster or a print job goes live.
