Count working days between two dates, or add working days to a date. Runs on your device.
A working day is any day that is not one of your weekend days and not one of the holidays you typed. Count mode gives the number of working days between two dates. Add mode starts from a date and finds the date that is N working days later. By default the start date is not counted and the end date is: from Monday to Friday of one week is 4 working days. Tick Include the start date to count it too, which makes the same week 5. If the start is after the end, the page swaps them and says so. In add mode, day 1 is the next working day after the start date, and adding 0 gives the start date itself. The page opens on 5 October to 16 October 2026, which has 11 calendar days, 2 weekend days and 9 working days.
Choose Saturday and Sunday, Friday and Saturday, Sunday only, or none. Friday and Saturday is the weekend in several countries, and Sunday only suits shops and sites that work six days. With none, every day is a working day unless it is a holiday. The weekend is the same for the whole range: the tool does not model alternating Saturdays or shift patterns. Weekend days are counted by the weekday of each date in the Gregorian calendar, so the result does not depend on your device or your time zone.
No holiday lists are built in, because public holidays change from year to year and differ by country, region and employer. Type the ones you need in the Holidays box as YYYY-MM-DD, separated by commas, semicolons or spaces, for example 2026-12-25, 2026-12-28. A holiday counts only if it falls inside the range and is not already a weekend day, so a holiday on a Saturday is counted as a weekend day and not twice. The same date typed twice counts once. Entries that are not real dates are ignored, and the notice says how many there were, without repeating them. Up to 2,000 entries are read. Count mode accepts dates up to about 500 years apart, and add mode up to 36,500 working days.
By default no: the start date is left out and the end date is included. Tick Include the start date to count both ends. From Monday 5 October to Friday 9 October 2026 that is 4 working days by default and 5 with the start included.
Type them in the Holidays box as YYYY-MM-DD, separated by commas or spaces. The tool has no built-in lists, because holidays change and differ by country and region. Holidays outside the range are ignored, and a holiday that falls on a weekend day is counted as a weekend day.
It is counted once, as a weekend day, and not again as a holiday. The Holidays skipped tile shows only the holidays that removed a weekday from the count.
It starts the day after the start date and steps forward one day at a time, counting only days that are neither weekend days nor holidays, until it has counted the number you asked for. The result is the last day counted. With 0 working days it returns the start date.
Yes. Choose Friday and Saturday under Weekend days. Sunday only and None are also available. The weekend is the same for the whole range.
It is ignored and counted. The notice under the answer says how many entries were not real YYYY-MM-DD dates, so a typo such as 2026-02-30 does not silently change the result.
