Paste terms and definitions, flip and shuffle cards to study, or print up to 200 cards as a double-sided PDF with cut lines.
To make flashcards from a list, paste one card per line with the term first and the definition after a separator, and the tool turns each line into a card you can study or print. The separator can be a tab, a comma or a space-hyphen-space (" - "). When a line has more than one kind, the tab wins, then " - ", then the first comma, so "osmosis, water moves, slowly" is the term osmosis with the definition "water moves, slowly". A hyphen inside a word, as in well-known, is not a separator. Lines with no separator or an empty side are skipped and counted in a notice. A deck holds up to 200 cards, and each side is cut to 300 characters; a notice says how many lines, cards or sides were left out.
Study mode shows one card at a time. Flip it to see the other side, then mark it I know it or Still learning. Both marks move you to the next card. When you reach the end you see how many you knew, for example 4 of 6, and a button to study only the cards you missed, in the same order. Shuffle starts a fresh round in random order. From the keyboard, Space or Enter flips, the left and right arrows move, K marks a card as known and U marks it as still learning. Show first lets you start with the definition instead of the term, which turns a vocabulary deck into a recall test in the other direction. Your marks are not saved: closing the tab clears them, and changing the text of the cards starts a new round.
Print mode makes a PDF with a front page and a back page for each sheet, 6, 8, 10 or 12 cards per page. With 8 per page the grid is 2 columns by 4 rows, so 6 cards use 1 sheet and 2 PDF pages, and 200 cards use 25 sheets and 50 pages. The back page is mirrored so each definition lands behind its term. For a flip on the long edge, which is the usual two-sided setting for portrait pages, the columns are reversed: card 1 is top left on the front and top right on the back. For a flip on the short edge the rows are reversed instead. Choose One-sided pages if you want to print fronts and backs in the same positions and glue them. Dashed cut lines mark the cards.
The PDF uses a standard font, so printing works for Western European letters (the Windows-1252 set, with accents such as é, ñ and ü), digits and common punctuation. A deck with Chinese, Arabic, emoji or letters outside that set, such as Ł or ź, can still be studied on screen, but the Download PDF button is switched off and says why. Long text is wrapped and shrunk to fit the card, down to a small size. Check that your printer is set to Actual size, not Fit to page, and test the alignment with one sheet before printing a whole deck, because printers differ by a few millimetres. The tool has no spaced repetition, no pictures and no saved decks. The text stays in this tab and is not uploaded.
Paste one card per line, with the term then the definition, separated by a tab, a comma or " - ". For example "hola - hello" and "gracias, thank you" give two cards. Up to 200 cards work, and the cards appear straight away in study mode.
Switch to Print, keep Printing on Two-sided, flip on long edge, and print the PDF with the matching two-sided setting at Actual size. The back page is mirrored, so with 8 cards per page, card 1 is top left on the front and top right on the back.
Choose Two-sided, flip on short edge under Printing options. The rows are reversed on the back instead of the columns. Test with a single sheet first, because the right setting depends on how your printer turns the paper.
A skipped line has no tab, comma or " - " between two parts, or one of the parts is empty. A line like "hola," is skipped. A notice shows how many lines were skipped without repeating them, so check the lines against the three separators.
You can study them on screen, but the PDF cannot print them. The PDF uses a standard font that covers Western European letters (the Windows-1252 set), accents like é and common punctuation, but not letters such as Ł or ź. Download PDF is switched off with a message when any card has other characters.
No. The text is processed in your browser and not uploaded. The PDF is made on your device. Only the options, such as cards per page and page size, are saved in this browser. The cards and your known marks are not.
