Draw with a pen, highlighter, shapes, arrows and text on a board you can pan and zoom. Undo and redo, then download a PNG or SVG, or save the board as a file.
This online whiteboard is a free drawing board in your browser with a pen, a highlighter, an eraser, lines, arrows, rectangles, ovals and text, and it works with a mouse, a finger or a stylus, with no account. Pick a tool, one of seven colours (or any hex code) and a line width of 2, 4, 8 or 16 units. The highlighter is three times the line width, at least 12 units, and drawn at 35 percent opacity so writing shows through it. The eraser removes whole strokes and shapes that it touches, not single pixels, so one swipe can clear a line you drew badly. Hold Shift while dragging a rectangle or oval to get a square or circle, and a line or arrow to snap to 45 degree steps. For text, type it into the box, then tap the board where it should go. Undo and redo keep the last 100 steps. The board opens with a small sample that you can draw over or clear.
The board is large rather than endless: items can sit up to 100,000 units from the start, and the view zooms from 10 percent to 800 percent. Zoom with the plus and minus buttons, with Ctrl or Command and the mouse wheel, or by pinching with two fingers, which also pans while you pinch. To move without drawing, use the Pan tool, hold Space, press the middle mouse button or use the arrow keys when the board has focus. Fit to drawing shows everything at once, up to 200 percent. The board stops the page from scrolling under your finger, and once it sees a stylus it treats a single finger as a way to pan, so a resting palm does not leave marks. Keyboard users can pan, zoom and undo, but drawing itself needs a pointer.
Download PNG and Download SVG crop the picture to what you drew plus 24 units of space on every side. Take a rectangle from (100, 100) to (300, 250) drawn with a 4-unit line. The line adds 2 units outside the corners, so the drawing spans 98 to 302 across and 98 to 252 down, which is 204 by 154. With the padding the SVG is 252 by 202 units, and the PNG is made at twice that size, 504 by 404 pixels. The longest side of a PNG is limited to 8000 pixels, and your device may limit it further. The PNG has a white background, the dot grid is never exported, and the SVG keeps text as text, set in Arial, Helvetica or the viewer's default sans-serif font. This tool does not add images, sticky notes or connectors, and it cannot select or move an item: erase it and draw it again.
Nothing is kept on your device unless you turn on Save my board on this device as I draw, which is off by default; with it on, a refresh does not lose the board. A note on the page says when it is on, and a button deletes the saved copy. The copy stays in this browser only and is skipped, with a warning, when the board is too large to store. Save board file writes a small .json file that Open board file reads back, and that is the way to move a board to another computer. A board holds up to 4000 items, 3000 points in one stroke and 200,000 points in all. This is a single-person board: nothing is shared live and there is no link to send. To share a drawing, send the PNG or SVG, or the board file.
Open this page and draw: pick Pen, a colour and a width, then drag on the board. There is no account, no sign-in and no watermark on the PNG or SVG. The board starts with a small sample that Clear board removes in one click, and Undo brings it back.
Use the plus and minus buttons, Ctrl or Command with the mouse wheel, or pinch with two fingers. Zoom runs from 10 percent to 800 percent. To pan, choose the Pan tool, hold Space, drag with the middle mouse button, or press the arrow keys. Fit to drawing shows all of it.
Yes. The board uses pointer events, so a finger, a stylus and a mouse all draw. The page does not scroll while you draw on it. Once a stylus has touched the board, one finger pans instead of drawing. Two fingers always pinch and pan. On a screen narrower than 640 px the board is 380 px tall, otherwise 480.
Download PNG for a picture (twice the board size, up to 8000 pixels on the long side), Download SVG for a vector file, or Save board file (.json) to edit it later. A rectangle from (100, 100) to (300, 250) with a 4-unit line exports as a 252 by 202 SVG and a 504 by 404 PNG.
No. This is a single-person board and nothing is shared live. There is no room or link. To work with others, export a PNG or SVG, or send the .json board file, which opens in this tool on another computer.
No. The drawing is processed in your browser and not uploaded. The PNG and SVG are made on your device. Only if you turn saving on (it is off by default), the board is kept in this browser's own storage and nowhere else, and you can turn it off or delete it. The page counts visits with Google Analytics using only the tool name, never what you drew.
