Paste your teams and get every round, home and away. Nothing leaves your browser.
The schedule uses the circle method. One team is held in place and the others rotate one step each round, so in every round each team meets a different opponent. With 6 teams that gives 5 rounds of 3 matches, and every team plays every other team exactly once. The matches total n times (n minus 1), divided by 2: 15 for 6 teams, 190 for 20. A double round robin plays the whole set twice, so the match and round counts double. The order of your list decides the order of the schedule, and the same list always gives the same schedule. To draw the order at random, shuffle the list first with the Shuffle List tool, then paste it here.
With an odd number of teams, one team has to sit out each round. The tool adds an empty slot to the rotation, and whoever is paired with it gets a line reading Team X has a bye. In the rounds table that team shows with Bye in the Away column. Each team has exactly one bye in a single round robin, so 5 teams play 5 rounds of 2 matches, and 7 teams play 7 rounds of 3. The matches total is still n times (n minus 1), divided by 2, because a bye is not a match. Rounds count the same as the number of teams when it is odd, and one fewer than the number of teams when it is even.
Each match lists a home team first and an away team second. The first team alternates home and away round by round, and the other pairings alternate by their position in the round. In a single round robin no team plays more than two home or two away matches in a row. With an even number of teams, the number of home matches for any two teams differs by at most one. A double round robin repeats the first half with home and away swapped, so every pair meets once at each team's ground. At the point where the second half starts, a team can have a third match in a row on the same side. If that matters to you, swap two lines by hand. Venues, dates and times are not scheduled.
Blank lines are skipped and extra spaces are trimmed. A name that appears twice, ignoring capital letters, is kept once and the tool says how many were ignored. You need at least 2 different names. The limit is 40, which gives 780 matches in a single round robin or 1,560 in a double, and a longer list shows a message asking you to split it into pools. The list is handled in this tab. No server receives it, and it is not saved or put in the page address. Only your format choice is remembered in this browser.
A single round robin has 7 rounds of 4 matches, 28 matches in all. A double round robin has 14 rounds and 56 matches. With an even number of teams, the rounds are the number of teams minus one for each leg.
One team sits out each round, so there are 9 rounds of 4 matches, 36 matches in all, and every team has exactly one bye. The bye shows as a line reading Team X has a bye and as a Bye row in the table.
Every pair meets twice. The second half of the schedule repeats the first half with home and away reversed. For 6 teams that is 10 rounds and 30 matches, instead of 5 rounds and 15 matches.
The schedule follows the order of your list and is the same each time. To change it, shuffle the list with the Shuffle List tool first, then paste the new order here. Each shuffle gives a different schedule.
No. The names are processed in this tab and no server receives them. Your format choice is saved in this browser, but the names are not, so closing the tab clears them. Google Analytics counts visits and copy presses, never the names.
