Online scoreboard

Big tap-to-score numbers for two to four sides, with sets, undo and full screen.

How it works

  1. Pick how many sides and the sport, then name them
  2. Tap + and - to keep score, and start a new set when one ends
  3. Go full screen, or copy the score and set history

Sides, names and score buttons

You can keep score for two, three or four sides. They start as Home and Away, then Team 3 and Team 4, and a name can be up to 30 characters. A name that is empty or only spaces falls back to its default, and spaces at either end are removed when you leave the box. Changing the number of sides never clears anything: a side you hide keeps its score, name and sets, and they are back when you show it again. The sport choice only decides which add buttons you get. Generic, Football / soccer and Volleyball / pickleball / table tennis give +1. Basketball gives +1, +2 and +3. Every side also has a minus button. A score cannot go below 0 and tops out at 9,999.

Sets and periods

Press New set / period when a set or quarter ends. The current score of every side is written into the Finished sets table as the next row, and the live scores go back to 0. The history keeps the scores of all four sides, so a side you hid still has its row if you show it again. The table holds up to 99 sets. Count sets won adds a Set + and Set - pair to each side, for games decided on sets. Picking the volleyball group of sports turns it on for you, and you can turn it off. The tool does not decide who won a set. You add the set yourself, so a correction is just a tap on Set -. Swap sides reverses the left to right order of the sides in play. Scores stay with their names.

Undo, reset and what is saved

Undo steps back one change at a time with no limit while this page stays open. It covers score changes, sets won, New set / period and Swap sides, and it works across a set boundary: undoing New set / period removes the table row and puts the old scores back. Renaming a side and changing the number of sides are not undo steps, and Undo leaves names and the number of sides as they are now. Reset all asks for a confirmation on the page first, then clears scores, sets, names, history and the undo steps. Keep this game on this device is off until you tick it. Once it is ticked, the current game (including the number of sides) is saved in this browser only, on this device, and comes back after a reload; a game that is still brand new and has two sides stores nothing. The undo steps are not saved, so a reload starts a fresh Undo. Untick the box and nothing is stored. If your browser blocks storage the game is kept in memory only.

Reading it from across the room

The digits are very large and use equal-width figures so the layout does not jump when 9 becomes 10. Two sides sit side by side on a phone, and three or four wrap to the next row. On a phone the score board comes first and the setup sits under Teams, names and options. Full screen shows the scores and the buttons on their own; it appears only in browsers that support it, and Escape leaves it. Each score change is read out by screen readers as, for example, Home 3, Away 2, and every button has a label such as Add 1 to Home. Copy result gives plain text with the score, the sets won if that counter is on, and one line per finished set. There is no clock in this tool, so pair it with the countdown timer for timed games.

Frequently asked questions

Does the scoreboard keep my score if I reload?

Yes, once you tick Keep this game on this device. It is off by default, so nothing is stored until you choose that. The names, scores, sets and set history are saved in this browser only. Nothing is sent anywhere. Reset all clears them, and unticking the box stops saving. Undo steps are not saved.

How do I undo a wrong tap?

Press Undo. It steps back one change at a time, as many times as you need while the page is open, including a New set / period you pressed by mistake. It does not undo a rename.

Can I show it on a big screen?

Use Full screen, which hides the rest of the page. If you do not see the button, your browser does not allow full screen for web pages; zoom the page in instead.

How many teams can I score?

Two, three or four teams or players. Switching between them keeps every score, so you can add a third side mid-game without losing the first two.

Why can't the score go below zero?

The minus button stops at 0 because none of the supported games use negative points. The top limit is 9,999 per side.
