All 52 cards face up, four free cells, eight columns. Play deals 1 to 32000 or a daily deal, with unlimited undo, a hint from a search, and safe cards sent up for you. Saved in your browser.
FreeCell is played with one deck: you win by moving all 52 cards onto four foundations, one for each suit, from ace up to king. All cards are dealt face up into eight columns, four of seven cards and four of six, so nothing is hidden and the game is about planning. You may put a card on a card one rank higher of the opposite colour, such as a red 6 on a black 7. The four free cells each hold one card as a temporary parking place, and an empty column takes any card or run. Only the bottom card of each column can be moved on its own, so you dig for the cards you need, and the cards you free decide how many you can park.
You can move a whole ordered run, alternating colours and falling in rank, in one go. The limit is the number of cards you could move one at a time using the free cells and empty columns: (free cells + 1) times 2 to the power of the empty columns. With 4 free cells and no empty column that is 5 cards. With 2 free cells and 1 empty column it is 3 times 2, which is 6. When the run is going to an empty column, that column does not count as a helper, so with 4 free cells and 1 empty column the limit is 5 for a move into it. If a run is too long the message tells you the limit for the cells and columns you have now.
Every deal has a number from 1 to 32000, and the same number always gives the same layout, so you can replay a deal or give a number to a friend. The numbers follow the classic, widely published FreeCell deal numbering, so deal 1 starts with the jack of diamonds in the first column, and deal 11982 has the same layout as the published one. Of those 32000 deals only number 11982 is reported to have no solution; it is the only one the Internet FreeCell Project of 1994 and 1995 could not solve, and this tool marks it as such. Random and daily deals never use it. This tool does not check each of the other deals itself, so it does not guarantee that you can win one. The Daily deal is made from the date on your device and the game name, so everyone gets the same number on the same date, and it counts once a day toward your daily streak.
With Auto-move on, a card goes to its foundation by itself when no card on the table can need it any more: aces and twos always, and any other card once both cards of the opposite colour one rank lower are already up. Undo takes back your move together with the cards that moved up because of it, and you can switch Auto-move off in Options. A move is one card or one run; cards sent up automatically do not count. When every column runs from high to low, Finish sends all the cards up as one move. Hint searches up to 15000 positions with single-card moves. If it finds a full win it suggests the first move of that win. If not, it says so and offers its best guess. If the search runs out of positions, it says that no win was found from here.
Tap a card to move it: a card that can go up goes up, a card with one column that fits goes there, and if several places fit, tap the place you want. You can also drag cards. With a keyboard, use the arrow keys to move between the free cells, foundations and columns, Enter or Space to pick up and drop, Escape to cancel, U to undo and H for a hint. The clock starts at your first move and pauses while the tab is hidden. The game is saved as you play, the last 8 games are kept, and your best moves and best time are saved in this browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.
(free cells + 1) times 2 to the power of the empty columns. With 4 free cells and no empty column you can move 5 cards, and with 2 free cells and 1 empty column you can move 6. Into an empty column, that column does not count as a helper.
Not necessarily. Of the 32000 numbered deals, only number 11982 is reported to have no solution, and this tool marks it. It does not solve each other deal itself, so it cannot promise you a win. Random and daily deals skip 11982.
Deal 1 has 7 cards in each of the first four columns and 6 in the others. The first row across the eight columns is JD 2D 9H JC 5D 7H 7C 5H, and the first column from the top is JD KD 2S 4C 3S 6D 6S. You can type 1 under Options, Deal number.
It searches up to 15000 positions, moving one card at a time. If it finds a full win it suggests the first move of that win. If it does not, it tells you so and suggests the move that looks best. It is a suggestion, not a guarantee.
It sends a card to its foundation by itself when no card on the table can need it: aces and twos always, and other cards once both cards of the opposite colour one rank lower are up. Undo takes back the move and those automatic ones together. You can turn it off in Options.
It is made from the date on your device, such as 2026-10-15, and the game name, and gives a deal number from 1 to 32000 other than 11982. Everyone with that date gets the same deal. Only the first finished daily of each day counts toward your streak.
No. The game is processed in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Your game in progress, your options and your best moves and times are saved in this browser's storage on this device. The page counts visits with Google Analytics, never your cards or moves.
