Draw, type or add a photo of your signature and place it on a page. Runs on your device.
This tool places a picture of your signature on a page. That is all. It is not a digital signature, a certified signature or a cryptographic one: it adds no certificate, records no name or time, locks nothing and checks nobody's identity, and anyone with a PDF editor can delete or move it. Whether a picture of a signature is accepted is decided by whoever asked for the document, not by this page. If a contract needs a legally binding electronic signature, use the signing service the other party names. The signature is drawn on top of the page. Nothing underneath is erased or changed, and the original pages are otherwise left as they are. The tool saves a new copy, so the file's bytes differ from the original, and your original file on your device is never modified. It does not fill in or sign interactive form fields either.
There are three ways to make the signature. Draw uses a pad that takes a mouse, a finger or a stylus. Type turns your name into one of six handwriting styles, up to 40 characters. Upload takes a photo of a signature in dark ink on white paper, with a threshold slider that decides which pixels count as ink; the paper becomes transparent. The signature is saved inside the PDF as a PNG with transparency, cut to the ink and at most 1000 pixels on its longer side. Once it is ready it appears at the bottom right of the last page, 36 points in from the edges and 150 points wide, or 30% of the page width if that is smaller. Drag the box to move it and drag the dot at its corner to resize it; the shape of the signature is kept. Arrow keys move the focused box by 1 point, or 10 with Shift, and Alt with the arrow keys resizes it. The Left, Top and Width fields under the page take percentages of the page, so the box can be placed without dragging. A box cannot leave the page.
You can place up to 20 signatures by hand: choose a page with Previous, Next or the page number field, then press Add a signature on this page. Each one can be moved on its own and removed with Remove selected. Also add puts today's date, written like 9 Oct 2026, or your printed name, under the first signature. Both are plain text you can edit, up to 60 characters, in Helvetica at 11 points and in black. Because the standard Helvetica font is used, only Latin letters, numbers and common punctuation can be written. If the text has anything else, such as Hindi, Chinese or an emoji, the tool says where the first character that cannot be written is (its position, not the text) and the button stays off until you fix it. Also place on every page is off. When you turn it on, the first signature is copied to every other page at the same relative place and width, except pages where you already placed one.
A page stored with a 90, 180 or 270 degree rotation, or with a crop area that does not start at the corner, gets the signature where the preview shows it, upright as you see it. A file mixing page sizes is measured page by page. A PDF protected by a password cannot be opened: the tool asks you to remove the password first. The tool works on one PDF at a time and warns before opening a very large one, because your device's memory is the limit. The PDF, the signature and the text you type are handled by your browser in this tab and are not uploaded. The page counts visits with Google Analytics, using rough size groups, never a file name, a signature or your typed text. The settings for how you sign, such as pen width and ink colour, are remembered on this device; the signature itself, your name and the photo are not.
That depends on your country and on the document. This tool only adds a picture of your signature to the page. It is not a certified, digital or cryptographic signature, and it makes no claim of legal validity. If you need a certificate or an audit trail, use a signing service the other party accepts.
Yes. Place up to 20 signatures by hand, one per click of Add a signature on this page, or turn on Also place on every page to copy the first signature to all the other pages. A 12-page contract with initials on each page is the usual use. The every-page option is off until you turn it on.
No. The drawing, the typed name and any photo stay in this tab and nothing is uploaded. Only how you sign (pen width, ink colour, handwriting style) is remembered on this device. The signature and your name are not stored, so they are gone when you close the page.
The printed name and the date use the standard Helvetica font that every PDF viewer has. It covers Latin letters, numbers and common punctuation such as é, ñ and €. Other alphabets and emoji cannot be written, so the tool tells you the position of the first character it cannot write. You can still draw or upload a signature in any script.
A scan works: the signature goes on top of the page image. Interactive form fields are not filled or signed; the tool only places a picture above the page. Nothing underneath is erased, so a signature over a field covers it visually without changing it.
This tool cannot read a PDF that is protected by a password, and it does not ask for one. Remove the password in the program that set it, save a copy, then add that copy here.
